Control Unit and Panel (BEDIS/KOMBI-BEDIS)
- Drive Operation: The FFM drive unit can be operated via a control panel or without one using specific program positions like NIGHT/EXIT ONLY.
- Programming: The control panel serves as a temporary programming unit; a cold start (mains supply ON/OFF) is required after connecting or removing it to preserve programmed values.
- Operating Levels: The control panel operates at four levels: Operating functions, Setting functions, Programming functions (for qualified personnel), and Malfunction indication.
Operating Functions (Level 1)
The currently selected function is indicated by a permanently lit LED.
- MANUAL (LED 32): The door opens and remains open; it can be released from the drive unit with a specific code.
- OPEN (LED 16): The installation remains in the open position.
- AUTOMATIC Summer (LED 8): Standard automatic mode with all control elements active.
- AUTOMATIC Winter (LED 4): Reduced opening width based on escape way requirements.
- EXIT (LED 2): One-way traffic where the outside opening command is only operative if the door is not yet closed.
- NIGHT (LED 1): Selected via an external key-operated switch for situations with no escape way.
Setting Functions (Level 2)
Users can modify specific values using the + and – keys.
- Vo (Opening Speed): Standard setting is 100%.
- Vc (Closing Speed): Adjustable between 25-65% (Standard 65%).
- S (Opening Width Winter): Adjustment is only possible if the feature is enabled.
- to (Hold-Open Time Standard): 0-10 seconds (Standard 2 seconds).
- tn (Hold-Open Time Night): 0-30 seconds (Standard 7 seconds).
Malfunction Indication (Level 4)
Faults are indicated by a red “ERROR” LED and a binary code formed by adding the numbers of the lit LEDs.
- Error 1/6: Motor circuit shutdown or defective motor/card.
- Error 10: Defective Control Box.
- Error 12/13: Electric lock or lock monitoring fault.
- Error 15/16: Power interrupt or battery not operative.
Safety and Maintenance
- Safety Elements: Includes light barriers (LS1/LS2) that reverse the drive if the beam is cut.
- Emergency Battery: Uses two 12V lead batteries to provide 24V emergency power. It is recommended to replace these every 4 years.
- Maintenance: The installation should be checked at least once a year by trained personnel to ensure safe operation. Before working on live elements, the power and emergency battery must be disconnected.
